Transforming Products, Systems, and Technologies

GSF values innovation, ingenuity and creative solutions that lead the way in our industry to best serve our customers and communities. In the past two decades alone, GSF breakthroughs encompass innovative products, systems and technologies, from patty molds and optical sorting to sustainable packaging solutions and purpose-driven product launches 

 

At the turn of the 21st century, GSF’s Protein Products division developed hamburger patty mold plate technology that doubled the capacity of patty formation. GSF also implemented automated conveyor delivery systems and computer-controlled forming and freezing equipment. In continuously improving its quality, safety and service delivery, GSF has saved its customers millions of dollars each year.

The company’s GSF Fresh! division, based in Asia Pacific, adapted the latest generation of optical sorting technology as a produce processing tool. This innovation reduced cost and risk of injuries, while improving product quality and increasing yields.

For Quick Service Restaurants and retail customers, GSF has developed hundreds of liquid product formulas and innovations with a variety of quantity and packaging options. In producing high-quality syrups and toppings for iconic customer, GSF creates dozens of signature formulas and product innovations each year.

In recent years, GSF innovators have partnered through IBM’s Food Trust initiative on supply chain technology that increases transparency, heightens safety and optimizes inventory. Leveraging blockchain, artificial intelligence and internet of things technologies, GSF collaborates with IBM to use connected devices for monitoring fresh beef’s real-time temperature, automatically tracking its movement, and synthesizing the business rules betweensupply chain parties.
