GSF Global Leadership Team Visits China

During the health crisis in China this year, Golden State Foods facilities have continued operations with no reports of associates affected by the coronavirus. When news broke about of surge of cases in central China, GSF immediately took action to send supplies to associates in Wuhan, as antiviral face masks and other essentials became scarce.

Just three months ago, Golden State Foods Chairman and CEO Mark Wetterau, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Brian Dick, Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Joe Heffington, Corporate Senior Vice President, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility and Legal Officer John Page and President, International Business Group Campbell Cooper visited two facilities in China.

During their November 2019 visit, GSF global leaders toured KanPak China’s Xiantao facility and dined at the Xiantao McDonald’s store for a taste of our products in market. They also visited KanPak China’s cone workshop to observe the complete production process and sample freshly made products.

The leadership team joined KanPak China Managing Director Tiger Wang, GSF Fresh! General Plant Manager Michel Hu and Senior Director, Finance and Control James Huang for a ceremony celebrating the new GSF Fresh! produce facility in Wuhan, China. Strategically located in central China’s Shanlv Industrial Park, the new facility is within 24 hours of QSR customers in the major metropolis areas of Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou and others.

In the Shanlv Industrial Park, many top international enterprises serve brands like Burger King, Häagen-Dazs, International Dairy Queen, McDonald’s, Papa John’s, Starbucks, YUM!, and Hai Di Lao Huo Guo (a famous brand in China). Quickly becoming the center of the supply chain, Shanlv enables GSF to achieve resource integration, advantage sharing, and cost and time efficiencies.

“I am deeply impressed by the talent resources and advantages of Wuhan, where we hope to grow, develop and make progress together with Shanlv to create a promising future in China. I would also like to praise the team behind all the remarkable improvements at the KanPak Xiantao factory over the past two years.” – Mark Wetterau, Golden State Foods Chairman and CEO
