Today, the Best in Biz Awards announced Golden State Foods (GSF) has earned a 2021 Gold Award for Most Socially Responsible Company of the Year in the category for large companies with 1,000 and more employees. Encompassing GSF’s environmental and community initiatives implemented in 2020 and 2021, the Best in Biz Gold Award recognizes the company’s growing electric truck fleet, the GSF Foundation’s new “Focus on Food” program, and pandemic-related food bank support, including donating bottled shelf-stable milk and fast-tracking more than $200,000 in local grants.

“As we prepare to mark GSF’s 75th anniversary in 2022, this gracious honor is truly a testament to the living legacy of our people and our values-based culture,” said Mark Wetterau, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, GSF. “At the heart of all the good we do together for our communities and our environment, it’s GSF associates who continue to bring our Creed and Values to life with their generosity and involvement in making a positive impact.”

As the only business awards program judged by independent panels of prominent news reporters and respected editors from top-tier publications, the Best in Biz Awards occur annually in two separate, geography-based programs, including North America (Canada and U.S.) and international (open to all companies anywhere in the world). In 2020, GSF received a Best in Biz Gold Award for Most Innovative Company of the Year, based on the surplus bottled milk hunger alleviation initiative that KanPak U.S. launched during the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic.
