National Safety Council Recognizes Facility Teams with Occupational Excellence Achievement Awards

“These high-performing facility teams have maintained the industry’s highest standards of safety and demonstrated their commitment to our GSF safety vision,” said Ray Magruder, GSF Corporate EHS Director. “As we continue cultivating even stronger safety cultures in all locations, we appreciate the notable efforts of these leading facilities to successfully ensure that our teams arrive safe, work safe, and go home safe.”

Last year, 10 global facilities earned NSC recognitions, in addition to GSF Opelika earning a 2022 Industry Leader Award for the facility team’s commitment to workplace safety. Recognizing organizations with injury and illness records better than or equal to 50 percent of the Bureau of Labor Statistics for their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code, evaluation criteria include: lost workday case incident rate better than or equal to 50 percent of the BLS rating for NAICS code in the past calendar year; zero fatalities during previous calendar year; and self-reported data.
